All Pakistan Mathematical Association (APMA)

All Pakistan Mathematical Association was established in 1960. The Association was a representative body of the mathematics community of the country. The aim and objectives of the association were to promote mathematics across the country and to achieve the international standards. The Association had been playing a significant role in achieving its goals. Besides holding conferences, seminars and colloquia and to unite the mathematics fraternity for the cause of mathematics, the Association was an adhering and representative body at the International Mathematical Union (IMU).

Professor M. Razi-ud-Din Siddiqui was the founder President of the Association. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Q.K. Ghori was elected President in 1985. Later-on, due to shortage of the funds, migration of the senior faculty to the Middle East, the Association remained dormant for some years. However, with the awakening in the Higher Education through the efforts of the HEC the All Pakistan Mathematical Association has been revitalized into an active association throughout the country. The Pakistan Academy of Sciences through its generous help provided the funds to hold All Pakistan Mathematical Conference from June 7-9, 2007. The conference has been a great success, and fresh elections for the office bearers of the Association were held on June 7, 2007. Presently, Pakistan Academy of Sciences, the adhering body for the IMU, is supporting the activities of APMA through the fellows of the Academy of Sciences.

The Association is committed to improve the status of mathematics in the country and internationally. The website of the Association has been established which was a primary job to undertake future activities of APMA.
